62. The Answer

“A few years back,” Stan began, “there was a fellow running for being the governor of some state.”  Don’t remember which one.  His campaign slogan was something like he was the answer.”

Continuing, Stan said, “And I remember some political commentator saying something like, ‘If he’s the answer, the question much not be very important!’”

Responding, I said, “There are a lot of people who think they are the answer for everything.”

“Yep,” said Stan, and continued, “God is the only answer for any question that matters..”

“Did Jesus ever say that He was the answer?” I asked.

“Not in those exact words, as far as I know,” Stan replied.

“But He said it in effect when He said He is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one gets to the Father except through Him.”

“Can’t be much clearer than that,” I said.

“You know,” said Stan, “our culture is bombarded 24 hours a day by people who claim they have the answer to just about everything.  I often wonder why the church is so silent about proclaiming the answer.”

“I don’t know.  There are people starving and thirsting to death spiritually for want of the correct answer to what they really need.”

“You, my friend,” Stan responded, “are totally correct.  And it goes beyond just bringing them to the answer, it goes to getting them to manifest the answer in every aspect of their being.”

“It begins with me, and it begins with you.”

I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, except through Me. John 14:6.

Prayer:  Lord, thank you for being the answer to every question that is important.  I need your help in expressing that truth to every person who is in need of you and your answer.  Please, Lord, help me to help in accord with your will.  Amen.
