154. Too Late

Note from The Storyteller:  If you have not read entries 1-153, do so.  There is much insight that will help you as you walk toward spiritual maturity.  All of the entries can be found at the following website:  https://www.waiting4thetrain.com/.  Also, please forward this email to everyone you think would be interested in and would benefit from reading this blog.

“One of my neighbors,” Stan began, “was really mad last night.”

“Mad about what?” I asked.

“It seems that he had his eye on a new flat-screen TV that was on sale at the Big Box Wholesale Club.”

“Were they all out of them?” I asked.

“No,” Stan replied. “It seems that they had plenty of them, but apparently they told my neighbor that he was too late.  The sale was over.”

“And then my neighbor got into an argument with them.  It seems he told them he had not had the time to get to the store any earlier.”

“The store wouldn’t budge.  They told him he was too late, that it was his fault, not theirs, that he didn’t get there in time.”

“Then, I guess, my neighbor stormed out really mad.  He went home and I got to hear all about it!  His wife probably did too!”

“The same thing can happen,” Stan continued, “when a person puts off making the right decision about where he or she is going when time’s up and it is time to get on a train.”

“That’s why I decided to get my ticket for the train, not just for any train that happens to come through the train station when it is time for me to step into eternity.”

“I didn’t want,” Stan continued, “to get to the train station and be told I was too late to get on the right train.”

Where I go, you cannot follow Me now, but you shall follow me later.  John 13:36.

Prayer:  Thank you, Lord, for drawing me to you so that I was able to commit to following you all the way in eternity.  Thank you for leading me to make the decision to be yours, so I will not be late in arriving to spend eternity with you.  I ask that you help me to share the truth with as many people as you bring before me so they, too, will not be late in getting to where you intend.  Thank you I can and do bring these prayers before you in the name of Jesus.  Amen.
