January 1, 2021 — Blessings For The New Year

As the old year passes away and the new one comes, may you be filled to overflowing with all of the newness God has for you.

Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.  2 Corinthians 5:17.

Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.  Romans 6:4.

Prayer:  Thank you, Father, for all of the newness you provide through the life, death, and resurrection of your Son.  As the sun rises on a new day in the new year, I pray that your Son will rise in the hearts of people and countries around the world as fully as you want.  Please help us in following your lead to that end, wherever you have for us to go, whatever the cost.  Thank you I can and do bring these prayers before you in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Think on this:  Are you a new creation in Christ though His life, death, and resurrection?  If not, why?  As the new year begins, do you want all of the newness that God has available for you?  Why or why not?  If you don’t want that, is it because you may be too comfortable with the old?  If you do want the newness that is available, do you know how to find it and how to make it the essence of your life?
