“At one point in our marriage,” Stan began, “my wife and I owned a motor home.”
“That must have been nice,” I responded.
“Well, it was some fun, but we didn’t use it that much and eventually sold it.”
“But there is a funny story that has a message.”
“Tell me.”
“At the rear of the motor home there was a bedroom where we slept. We also traveled with our cat who wanted to sleep with us.”
“Cute!”
“Not so much,” Stan replied with a smile.
“The cat would bother us all night, especially me. So we would try to keep the door closed so the cat couldn’t come in.”
“But the cat was big and the bedroom door was a bi-fold that wasn’t very secure. The cat would crash the door open and come in just as he wanted!”
Continuing, Stan said, “I have the same tendency of crashing doors open rather than waiting for God to show me a door He has opened for me.”
“When I barge ahead of God and crash through a door I want opened, rather than waiting for Him, the result is usually very predictable. It is not what He intends. The result looks like something that has been crashed.”
“He is constantly teaching me to patiently wait for Him rather than crashing ahead.”
“As I have said many times, I am a slow learner, but God is patiently teaching me patience.”

Prayer: Lord, you know my self-focused tendency to want to run ahead of you and to crash through doors you have not opened. Please help me in waiting for you to open the doors you want opened. Help me to see those opened doors and to go through them, following you, in accord with your will. Thank you that I can and do come before you in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Waiting for the Train 
Thanks for the reminder. Waiting isn’t fun but we have no other choice if we want to get the best from the Father. We really have to wait. God bless you.

Agreed to this. Whether we admit it or not, it is hard to wait but we still have to. Why? Because it is in waiting that God transforms our hearts and our character to be like His Son Jesus Christ. Then we realize that our whole life is all about waiting and finally surrendering to the will of God.
